Homeless people in Mumbai to be counted tomorrow night
Mumbai, Feb 27 (PTI) The homeless people in themetropolis will be counted tomorrow night for the 15thNational Census.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) hasalready begun the groundwork for the census of the homeless.
"The 24 ward offices have gathered information on thehomeless people, who are either found on footpaths, or underthe bridges. This floating population moves around the cityduring the day, and by night they return to their usualplaces," Additional Municipal Commissioner Manisha Mhaiskarsaid.
According to BMC officials, over 20 people per ward willbe deputed for counting homeless people between 11 pm and 5 amon February 28.
The BMC started the second phase of Census on February 9.
