HMK members arrested

Chennai,Feb 27(PTI)About 20 members of Hindu Munnani Katchi(HMK) were arrested for trying to stage a demonstration infront of Tamil director Gautam Vasudev Menon''s house here forallegedly portraying in bad lights the relationship between anadopted mother and an insane youth in his latest movie''Nadunisi Naaygal'' (Midnight Dogs).

Police sources said the HMK members, involving stray dogsin their protest, were arrested near the director''s house.

Citing epics like Ramayana, which highly respected women,HMK General Secretary A Kannan condemned the "indecent"portrayal of a woman in the film.

HE also demanded immediate removal of such scenes from themovie.

Security has been tightened around he director''s house,they said.
