Fire at court complex

Ferozpur (Punjab), Feb 27 (PTI) Some unidentified personstoday set afire the record keeper room adjoining the court ofthe Additional District and Sessions Judge here, police said.

Guards posted outside the court complex heard a loudbursting sound at around 4 am in the morning. When theyapproached the Ahalmad (record keeper) room adjoining thecourt of Judge Jatinder Kaur, they noticed fumes coming out,police said.

Fire tenders reached the spot and took around two hoursto douse the fire, however several files related to courtcases had been burnt by that time, they said.

Deputy Commissioner Kamal Yadav along with senior policeand judicial officials reached the site and supervised therescue operation.

An iron rod and petrol canister were recovered from thespot.

Police have registered a case against unidentifiedpersons and a massive hunt has been launched to nab themiscreants, they said.
