BJP demands sacking of Delhi minister indicted by Lokayukta

New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) BJP today staged a rally heredemanding dismissal of Delhi minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, whowas indicted by Lokayukta for allegedly trying to influence ateam of sales tax officers examining a case of tax evasion.

"In spite of the orders of Lokayukta, the Chief Ministerhas not dismissed Chauhan and no criminal case has been filedagainst him because the Delhi Government is itself involved incorruption," a release quoting state BJP chief Vijender Guptasaid.

The Lokayukta recently recommended removal of Chauhanfrom the the council of ministers for allegedly trying toinfluence a team of sales tax officers -� which was examininga case of possible tax evasion at a resort in south Delhi.

The BJP at a rally at Khajoori Chowk here demandedimmediate dismissal of Chauhan and initiation of criminalproceedings against him.

Besides Gupta, former Chief Minister of UttarakhandBhagat Singh Koshiyari and other leaders participated in therally.

The party also condemned use of force against itsworkers during a protest march.
