Amravati factory catches fire
Amravati, Feb 27 (PTI) A major fire broke out at afactory here in the wee hours today causing damages to thetune of Rs 80 lakh, sources said.
The Jwala Oil Industries, which was packed withcottonseeds, cottonseed paste and oil, caught fire due toshort circuit, fire officials said.
According to the fire officials, the situation could havebeen worse as an oil tanker was parked near the factory,posing a threat to the other factories nearby.
However, the firemen prevented the oil tanker fromcatching fire, they said.
The fire was brought under control after over eight hoursof rescue operations, the sources said adding that the primaryloss at the factory, owned by one Naresh Chaudhary, has beenestimated at about Rs 80 lakh.
