Two temple guards booked for possessing unauthorised arms
Aurangabad, Feb 26 (PTI) Police have booked twosecurity guards of the well-known Tuljabhavani Temple inadjoining Osmanabad district for possessing unauthorisedweapons.
Nexus Security Agency has been providing securityguards to the temple since last one year. The agency hasdeployed five armed personnel.
When policed inquired about the arms licenses and thecharacter certificate of the guards, the agency did notprovide the documents of two of them.
An inquiry revealed that the licenses of the two,Rathpal Singh Premnath Singh and Jamit Singh Nasib Singh, bothresidents of Rajuri district in Jammu and Kashmir, were fake,a police officer said.
Superintendent of Police Sanjay Darade today said theduo has been booked for violation of Arms Act and forgery.
Both of them are absconding.
He declined to provide further details, saying a probewas still on.
Tuljabhavani Temple is one of the most revered shrinesin Maharashtra.
