Temperatures drop in plains after rains
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (PTI) With rains lashing the plainsand snowfall in the hills of Jammu and Kashmir and HimachalPradesh, the minimum temperatures today dropped across Punjaband Haryana by a few notches.
Hisar was the coldest place in the two statesrecording a minimum of 6.9 degrees Celsius, four notches belownormal level, the MeT said here.
Karnal was also cold at 7.4 deg C, down three notcheswhile Rohtak recorded a low of 8.3 deg C, down two degrees.
Narnaul''s minimum at 8 deg C was down by two notchesthan normal while Ambala registered a low of 9.4 deg C, alsodown two degrees.
In Punjab, Patiala experienced the chill at 7.6 deg C,down three notches while the low at Ludhiana was 7.8 deg C,two below normal.
Amritsar recorded a low of 8 deg C.
The mercury also dropped at Chandigarh, with theminimum settling at 8.8 deg C, down one notch.
Rains have lashed the region this week while the hillshave experienced fresh spell of snow.
