Seven-year-old drowned in water-filled pit
New Delhi, Feb 26 (PTI) A seven-year-old boy wasdrowned in a water-filled pit dug by a civic body in centralDelhi, police said today.
The incident was reported from Ranjeet Nagar lastnight and the deceased has been identified as Rahul Pandey, aClass III student.
Missing since yesterday afternoon, Rahul was founddrowned last night in a 12-ft deep water-filled pit by aneighbour, who informed police.
Rahul was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital wherehe was declared brought dead.
"Yesterday afternoon, he had gone out to play but didnot return his home till evening. In the mean time a neighbourfound his body in a pit," a senior police official said.
He said a probe is on to ascertain whether the pit wasdug by MCD or not.
