On Dec 29, 2007, Sunil Joshi was shot dead by a group of unidentified people near his house in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. Media report quoted Joshi's nephew as saying, "I learnt that my uncle was dead only after Pragya Didi left hurriedly. A local RSS leader stayed in our house to ensure that the TV was switched off and the news of his death did not reach my grandmother."
Pragya, who has been charged with conspiracy, murder and destruction of evidence, is undergoing treatment at JJ hospital for several weeks. Madhya Pradesh police, with the special permission from MCOCA, interrogated Sadhvi in the hospital.
