PLFI activist gunned down in Gumla
Gumla (Jharkhand), Feb 27 (PTI) A self-styled sub-zonalcommander of the banned People''s Liberation Front of India(PLFI) was gunned down in an encounter with security forces inGumla district, police said today.
Guddu Oraon was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on hishead in Jharkhand, while Chhattisgarh had announced a rewardof Rs 10,000 for catching him in connection with 24 cases ofMaoist violence, Gumla Superintendent of Police N K Singh saidhere.
"Oraon was active on the borders of Chhattisgarh, Orissaand Jharkhand," he said.
The encounter took place yesterday when Oraon aliasKaram Chand Oraon and his men opened fire on a patrollingpolice party in Keredih forest, Singh said, adding he waskilled in the exchange of fire.
