NAC to write to Health Ministry on Rajasthan maternal deaths
New Delhi, Feb 25 (PTI) Concerned over the maternaldeaths in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the National AdvisoryCouncil (NAC) headed by Sonia Gandhi today decided to seek anexplanation from the Health Ministry.
The NAC discussed the recent maternal deaths in Jodhpurafter the victims were allegedly administered infectedintravenous (IV) fluids at a government hospital.
The advisory body will write to the Health Ministry andask it furnish details regarding the incident and the actiontaken on the matter.
Thirteen pregnant women died in Jodhpur city in aspan of 10 days after they were given infected intravenous(IV) fluids at a government hospital.
Maternal deaths were also reported from Madhya Pradesh inDecember.
