MLA Dilip Wagh admitted to hospital, his PA arrested

Nashik, Feb 27 (PTI) Following the arrest of MLA DilipWagh in Mumbai on the charges of rape yesterday, police heretoday arrested his personal assistant and co-accused Maheshalias Bunty Mali.

Wagh was brought here by local police from Mumbai at 2am, and was admitted to Nashik civil hospital as he complainedof ill-health, police said.

Wagh represents Pachora in neighbouring Jalgaon district,and his party, NCP, suspended him following the chargesyesterday.

Mali was picked up by Sarkarwada police here, sourcessaid.

A 20-year-old girl from Pathardi, Ahmednagar district,had alleged that Wagh and Mali called her to Nashik, promisingto give her a job, and raped her on February 21 at theGovernment guest house here.

She lodged the FIR on February 25. According to hercomplaint, she first met Wagh in Aurangabad, where the MLApromised to arrange a job for her.

The girl has undergone a medical test, following thecomplaint, which confirmed that she has had a sexualintercourse, police said.

Wagh, before his arrest, had alleged that it was a"political conspiracy".
