HC Lok Adalats settle 60 long-pending cases
New Delhi, Feb 26 (PTI) The Delhi High Court LegalServices Committee (DHCLSC) settled 60 cases relating toaccident claims and discoms in Lok Adalats held today.
"A total of 60 pending matters at the stage of firstappeal and second appeal before the High Court, were settledamicably and once and for all in this Lok Adalat," a releaseof DHCLSC said.
Three special Lok Adalat benches were constituted andthey were presided over by Justices G S Sistani, RajivShakdhar and Sunil Gaur, it said, adding that the partiesincluding the discoms and insurance companies were "happy withthe settlements".
"The Electricity Companies could recover a sum ofRs 86 lakh approximately while enhancements in MACT awards tothe tune of roughly Rs. 15 lacs were also granted," it said.
