Robbery at east Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 25 (PTI) Three unknown men barged into ahouse in east Delhi today and held a housewife and her one-year-old son hostage at gunpoint before fleeing with cash andvaluables.

The incident took place in Mandawali at around 9:00 AMwhen the victim Nisha (35) and her son were at home.

The robbers barged into the house with weapons anddemanded money. When she refused, the men snatched her sonfrom her arms and held him at gunpoint.

Nisha then handed over the keys, a senior police officialsaid, adding that they ransacked the house.

The victim claimed that the assailants fled with Rs40,000 cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.

Victim''s husband Mohd Sajid, who works at a privatecompany, had gone to Kanpur on a business trip.

Investigators are suspecting involvement of the couple''stenants as they were found missing since the incident.

Nisha had recently rented out a room in their house to acouple without police verification.
