Nitish lauds Bihar budget
Patna, Feb 25 (PTI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laudedthe Rs 65325.87-crore budget for the year 2011-12 presented bythe Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in the stateassembly today and said that it reflected the growth story ofthe state.
The budget will definitely give a boost to developmentin Bihar, he said in his reaction to the state budget.
Congratulating Modi and his team for a skillful financialmanagement, Kumar said that the revenue has increasedsignificantly from taxes and the same will be used for fundingdevelopment projects in the state.
On the increase in VAT and registration taxes onvehicles, the Chief Minister said that the taxes in the statewere still less that those prevailing in other states.
On the positives of the budget, he said that it hasrightly given a thrust on infrastructure development, welfare,education and health sectors.
There will be a growth in the development of humanresources in Bihar and the growth rate in several indicesin the state will exceed that of national average.
