Revati murder case: charges framed against 7 accused

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 24 (PTI) A local court today framedcharges against seven accused for robbing and murdering thewife of senior BJP leader Hukum Singh.

Additional District Sessions Judge Raj Bahadur Singhread out the charges under section 396 (dacoity with murder),section 412 (dishonestly receiving property stolen in thecommission of a dacoity) and section 120b (being a party to acriminal conspiracy to commit an offence) of the IPC, againstShankar, Jashodh, Ravi, Lallan, Ashok, Pradeep and Sunil.

Seventy-five-year old Revati Singh was found murderedon July 30 last year at her residence here. The culprits haddecamped with a cash of Rs 68 lakh and ornaments worth Rs 10lakh from the scene of the crime.

A cash of Rs 52,80,000 was later recovered from theaccused.

The next hearing of the case will be held on February28.
