Relatives of BJP leader sentenced to life imprisonment
Etawah, Feb 24 (PTI) Three persons, all relatives ofa senior BJP functionary, were today sentenced to lifeimprisonment after a local court convicted them in a14-year-old murder case.
Arjun Singh Bhadauriya and his sons Abhayveer,Udayveer and Dinesh first shot at victim Vinod SinghBhadauriya, driver of a political rival Jaiveer Singh, andthen hacked him to death on March 10, 1993, in Udi villagehere, prosecution said. One of the accused Abhayveer diedduring the course of trialAdditional District Judge held the trio guilty andsentenced them to life imprisonment. The court also slappedthem with a fine Rs 10,000 each.
While Arjun Singh is father-in-law of nationalvice-president of BJP women wing Sarita Bhadauriya, Udayveerand Dinesh are his brother-in-laws.
