Railway Budget disappointing: FKCCI

Bangalore, Feb 25 (PTI) Trade body FKKCI today expresseddisappointment with the Union railway budget, saying it hasnot lived upto the expectations of the people of the state.

"The Railway Budget is not upto the expectations of thecitizens of Karnataka", N S Srinivasa Murthy, President of theFederation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

"Unless and until more railway lines and more number oftrains are run, the place will not see the improvement that isneeded", he said.

The budget does not make a mention of when theBangalore-Mysore line will be doubled. It also makes nomention of a railway link between Hubli and Ankola, he said.

Similarly extension of certain trains likeBangalore-Mangalore Express up to Karwar, though welcome,would be detrimental to interests of Mangalore and Bangaloreis one of the most industrialized places in the state.

"We had demanded for a separate night train from Bangaloreto Mangalore but this has not been heard at all", he said. PTIJD MSR APRAPR02252015
