Ornaments worth Rs 9 lakh looted

Agra, Feb 24 (PTI) Gold and silver ornaments worth Rsnine lakh were looted from a jeweller by armed assailants inKagarol area in the district here, police said today.

The incident occurred when the jeweller Sattar Khan,resident of Beri Chahar village, was returning after closinghis shop in Akola town along with his employee Dauji lastevening, SHO Ranpal Singh said.

The assailants stopped them and looted the ornamentsfrom them at gunpoint injuring both Sattar and Dauji, he said.

Police have arrested a person named Pramod on thebasis of information provided by the victim and investigationis on to nab other culprits, he added.
