Indonesia and Malaysia sign health cooperation agreement
JAKARTA, INDONESIA: The Health Ministries of Indonesia and Malaysia on Friday signed a health cooperation agreement, officials said Friday.
Endang Rahayu, Indonesia's Health Minister, and Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Malaysia's Health Minister, gathered in Jakarta, Indonesia for the signing ceremony, the Jakarta Post reported.
The agreement will include cooperation in several medical fields such as infectious disease control, traditional and complementary medication and supervision of drug and cosmetics products. In addition, the neighbor countries will be working together in food safety and quality control, human resources development and medical research.
During the agreement, a doctor exchange program was also mentioned to mutually improve knowledge and skills.
