GNDU to confer Honorary D.Sc. degrees on Nobel Laureate
Amritsar, Feb 25( PTI) Guru Nanak Dev University herewould confer honorary Doctorate of Science degree on Richard RErnst, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, at its convocation here onMarch 1.
Inderjit Singh, GNDU Registrar, said the University wouldconfer D.Sc. on Ernst for his contribution in the field ofChemistry.
Alexander Pines, Glenn T. Seaborg Professor of Chemistryand Faculty Affiliate, California Institute for QuantitativeBiomedicine, and senior scientist, Materials Sciences DivisionLawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA, would also behonoured with honorary D.Sc. degrees.
He said Dalip Kaur Tiwana, leading Punjabi novelist,would also be honoured with honorary Doctorate for hercontributions to Punjabi language and literature.
