Gehlot inaugurates workshop on climate change

Jaipur, Feb 24 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister AshokGehlot said here today that combined efforts were needed tocreate a balance between environment considerations anddevelopment.

Speaking at the inaugural function of a workshop onthe climate change, he said the world today is concernedabout the environment and everybody should make efforts toprotect environment.

"Nature and environment had great importance inancient times but new generations could not understand thesignificance of the nature due to lack of awareness. Today,the entire world is concerned for global warming and threatsto the environment," Gehlot said.

He said the state government has released itsenvironment policy-2010 and has enforced the ban on use ofplastic bags which turned out to be a very effective step.
