Former minister Harpal Singh dead
Chandigarh, Feb 25 (PTI) Former minister Harpal Singhdied at a government hospital here after prolonged illness,party sources said today.
Harpal, 82, died last night at PGIMER here.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter. One of his sonParamvir Singh is the Agriculture minister in Haryana cabinet.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has condoled thedeath of Singh.
"As a minister Harpal had held many portfolios and made asignificant contribution in the development of Haryana," Hoodasaid.
After partition of the country, Singh was elected as amember of Tohana Municipal Committee and remained its vicepresident for a long time.
He was elected as a member of Haryana Congress in 1965-66and Haryana Vidhan Sabha in 1967.
