Extortionist militant arrested in Manipur
Imphal, Feb 25 (PTI) A militant of the KangleipakCommunist party-military council (KCP-MC) was arrested fromKhunfrakpak Awang Leikai in Imphal East district of Manipur,official sources said today.
Police commandos were frisking at Khundrakpam area, whentwo militants were spotted on a two-wheeler. The militantstried running away and even fired towards the policepersonnel, they said.
The security personnel retaliated and after a militantwas hit by a police bullet, he was arrested.
The other militant, however, escaped with the motorcycle.
The injured militant was identified as N Premananda (27)of Sambei. He has been admitted to the Jawaharlal NehruInstitute of Medical Science Hospital, sources said.
