Escorts launches new range of tractors

Chandigarh, Feb 24 (PTI) Tractor maker Escorts Limitedtoday announced the launch of �Jai Kisan� series of tractorsfor Punjab and Haryana.

The new range of tractors will come in five categories,which are specialized in various farm applications as well asland development activities.

"The launch brings us closer to the philosophy ofempowering Indian farmers by providing solutions that enhanceproductivity and improve quality of life in rural areas," saidcompany�s Executive Director and CEO Rohtash Mal.

"Farm mechanization is the need of the hour and aprominent vector that will enhance farm productivity andprofitability...

With the advent of newer applications across croppingcycle as well as use in commercial applications, there is aneed for tractors to be customized and specialized to maximizeprofitability," he said.

Mal said Punjab and Haryana contributed 20 per cent ofthe company�s total sales.
