College girl abducted by jilted lover

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 25 (PTI) A girl was allegedly abductedby four persons at gunpoint while on her way to college,police said here today.

Sangita, a final year BA student, was going to hercampus on a motorbike with here maternal uncle when fourassailants came in a car and abducted her at gunpoint nearShahpur village here yesterday, they said.

It is believed that jilted lover Sethu wanted to marrySangita and abducted her with the help of his three friendswhen her family refused his wedding proposal.

Police have registered a case against Sethu and threeother persons Yashvir, Vedram and Begraj.

In another case a 20-year-old man was shot dead by threeyouths at Banngad village in the district here yesterday.

"A case against Pushpender, Gagender and Jogender hasbeen registered and the search for them is on," City SP K BSingh told here today.

Sanjeev was in love with a girl and was shot dead byPushpender, another lover of her, he added.
