Child rescued, four kidnappers arrested from Navi Mumbai

Thane, Feb 25 (PTI) Thane police have arrested fourpersons and rescued a child that had allegedly been kidnappedfor ransom.

Rohan (8), the son of a city-based businessman, AshokParikh, was abducted by unknown persons on February 23 fromSavarkar Nagar while he was playing near his house.

His mother received a call, seeking ransom of Rs 15 lakh.

Another call came yesterday, which was traced to a PCO in NaviMumbai.

Thane police commissioner K P Raghuvanshi told reporterstoday that after tracing the caller''s location, police laid atrap and nabbed Sonusingh Satya Singh, the caller, who ledthem to one Paritosh Mandal at Nerul, with whom the boy hadbeen kept.

Mandal was arrested and the child was returned to hisparents late last night.

Police also arrested Sonusingh''s brother, Sunny, and oneMohamad Sheikh in connection with alleged kidnapping.
