BJP to take up security issue in budget session in JK Assembly

Jammu, Feb 24 (PTI) BJP today said that it will raisethe issue pertaining to security situation of Jammu andKashmir in the budget session of the state Assembly beginningfrom February 28.

"In the ensuing budget session of the state Assembly,we will take up many issues pertaining to the problems facingthe people, more so, that of the state''s security and unity ofthe country," Leader of the BJP Legislative Party Chaman LalGupta told reporters here today.

He said, this session holds significance because afterdisputing the finality of the accession issue, the stategovernment did not permit the hoisting of the tri-colour atLal Chowk and mis-treated national figures like Sushma Swarajand Arun Jaitley.

"The party legislators were kept in police custody withoutany arrest warrants and it was the height of despotism thatthe workers who reached Srinagar to hoist the flag werebrutally tortured and maltreated and we will bring up theseissues during the budget session," Gupta said.

He said among other issues, the problem of unemployment,soaring prices, neglect of farmers, ex-servicemen and othersections of the society will also be raised.
