Telangana: JAC planning rail roko
Hyderabad, Feb 24 (PTI) Seeking to put more pressure onthe Centre for formation of separate Telangana state, theTelangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) is planningto organise ''rail roko'' (train blockades).
The dates for the proposed protest would be announcedsoon, JAC Convener, M Kodandaram told reporters here today.
Many south-bound trains from northern India pass throughthe region.
Meanwhile, the government employees in Telangana, who arecarrying on a non-cooperation agitation for last one week,today threatened to start an indefinite strike from March 5 ifthe Centre failed to come out with a statement on formation ofseparate state.
"We will go on a strike from March 5 if there is nocategorical statement on formation of separate Telangana,"Swamy Goud, a leader of employees, said.
The JAC has asked people to conduct rallies tomorrowand day after, expressing solidarity with the governmentemployees.
