Man commits suicide after BJP leader refuses to return money
Sagar(MP), Feb 24 (PTI) A retired police constableallegedly ended his life by consuming poison, leaving behind asuicide note claiming that he was in deep trouble as a localBJP leader wasn''t returning his money, police said today.
In his suicide note, the deceased Nanhelal Tiwari statedthat a BJP leader of Khurai area Manish Singhai took Rs fourlakh from him with a promise to get a job for his son AjayTiwari in the police department, Gopalganj Police StationHouse Officer (SHO) Rekha Jain said.
Singhai wasn''t returning Tiwari''s money after his sondidn''t get the job, Tiwari stated in the letter recovered fromhis trousers pocket, she said.
The suicide note stated that Tiwari''s daughter wasgetting married on February 27 and he was very much troubledover the finance as the local BJP leader wasn''t returning hismoney, Jain said.
The retired police constable had yesterday petitioned thecollector''s office seeking its intervention to realise Rs fourlakh from Singhai, she said.
Last evening, we got information that a man was lying inan unconscious state in the collector''s office, Jain saidadding that they rushed Tiwari to the hospital where he diedduring treatment late last night.
"We are investigating the suicide," the SHO said addingthat the postmortem report was awaited.
