''Congress MLAs from Telangana to join statehood demand chorus''
Hyderabad, Feb 24 (PTI) Following in the foot-steps ofCongress MPs from Telangana, party MLAs from the region willraise the separate statehood demand in the state legislature,party legislator S Rajaiah said today.
"We will follow the path of Telangana MPs. Theirbehaviour is appreciable. We will raise the Telangana demandin the Assembly," Rajaiah, an MLA from Telangana, toldreporters here.
The demand for a separate Telangana state paralysedproceedings in the Lok Sabha till afternoon yesterday with theTRS, as also members of TDP and Congress from the region,vying with each other to raise the ticklish issue.
Several Congress members, including M Jagannath, MadhuGoud Yaskhi, Poonam Prabhakar and Sarvey Satyanarayana, raisedslogans like ''Jai Telangana'', while TDP member from Adilabad,Ramesh Rathod joined the TRS members in the well.
Rajaiah also said the party MLAs would participate in"direct agitation" for separate Telangana.
