Youth jumps into Omar''s path, lands in jail

Ambedkar Nagar (UP), Feb 22 (PTI) A youth, said to bementally deranged, jumped into the path of Jammu and KashmirChief Minister Omar Abdullah here today, causing panic amongsecurity force personnel.

The incident happened when Omar and other members ofhis family were walking towards Kichaucha Shareef dargarh,250-km from Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, to offer prayers,police said.

The youth identified as Mohd Shahid scaled the boundarywall and came near the Chief Minister creating a scare amongsecuritymen and district officials.

He was whisked away by security force personnel andwas later arrested.

Station House Officer Baskhari Omveer said Shahid, whohails from Gorakhpur, was mentally deranged.
