Policemen injured in Dumka district

Dumka (Jharkhand), Feb 22: Seven persons, including Kathikund police station in-charge and five police constables, were today injured when a tree fell on their vehicle at Aamjhari in Dumka district, the police said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police DC Ram told reporters that the incident occurred when a tree, which was being cut by woodcutters, fell on the vehicle.

The policemen were returning to Kathikund police station after attending a departmental meeting in Dumka town when the incident took place, he added.

While two constables were admitted to a public health centre, four policemen and the civilian driver were referred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.
