Man dies after allegedly beaten by police outside exam centre

Jalgaon, Feb 22 (PTI) A farm labourer died on the spotallegedly after being beaten up by a police officer at Sangvivillage in Yaval taluka of district.

Suresh Dodhu Chaudhary (55), resident of Sangvi wasspotted by an officer while passing chits to std 12 student inthe exam hall this afternoon, police said.

He allegedly thrashed Suresh with lathi severely, whichkilled him on the spot, police said.

The news caused a mob to gather there, and there wasstone-pelting at police vehicles, they said. Police broughtthe situation under control much later.
