BJP workers protest over ''inflated'' water bills

New Delhi, Feb 22 (PTI) Scores of BJP workers todaystaged a demonstration in Shahdara area of the city protestingissuance of "inflated" water bills to the residents anddemanding a better sewer system in the area.

The BJP workers took out a march and later staged thedemonstration outside the Delhi Jal Board office at PreetVihar. They also burnt an effigy of Delhi Government.

Addressing the gathering, city BJP chief VijenderGupta severely criticised the city government accusing it offailing to provide the basic minimum facilities to thecitizens.

He accused the Delhi Jal Board of issuing "highlyinflated" water bills to the citizens and asked for revisionof all the recent bills issued by the agency.
