Army repairs vital bridge in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 22 (PTI) The ''Kaman Aman Setu'' (bridge),connecting the two regions of Jammu and Kashmir, was repairedby the Army after it was damaged in landslides last month.
"A massive boulder from across the Line of Control,triggered by landslides, caused heavy damage to the bridge onFebruary 14, rendering it unsuitable for vehicular traffic," aSrinagar-based Army spokesman said.
A team of two officers, two junior commissionedofficers (JCOs) and fifteen other ranks began the repair workon the bridge yesterday, he said.
"The team professionally went about their task inrepairing the 40x20 ft breach and in a record time of fourhours successfully completed the repair work on the bridge,"he said.
The bridge connects Srinagar with the Muzaffarabad andalso facilitates the ''Karwan-e-Aman'' (Caravan of Peace) busservice.
