Witness deposes about Faisal Shaikh in train blasts trial
Mumbai, Feb 22 (PTI) A witness today deposed before thespecial Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA)court, which is conducting the trial in the July 2006 Mumbaitrain blasts case.
The witness (name not disclosed) said that MohammedFaisal Shaikh -- an accused -- used to attend meetings of SIMIand urge fellow members to wage jihad''.
The witness also said that Faisal had told him about histrip to Pakistan and said that he (Faisal) had been trained byLashkar-E-Toiba.
The witness is likely to be cross-examined tomorrow.
Seven bombs, kept in the first class coaches of Mumbai''ssuburban trains, exploded on July 11, 2006, killing 188people and injuring 817 others.
While 13 persons were arrested, 14 others are stillabsconding.
The examination of witnesses resumed after a gap of twoyears as the Supreme court had stayed the trial in 2008, andvacated the stay last year. PTI VI KRK
