Apple to launch new Macbook Pro laptop

Citing "people familiar with the matter", technology blog Apple Insider reported that Apple is planning to unveil the new MacBook Pro on Thursday, Feb 24, on the birthday of Apple co-founder and CEO, Steve Jobs. The shipping of the new line-up would also start on the same date.
The new Apple MacBook Pro will have latest Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs and will also boast of Light Peak technology that will be used to connect to several devices. Some other reliable sources added that Apple has stopped the sale of MacBook Pro laptop models. Apple told European retailers that the new laptops will reach their stores very soon.
The new connection technology, Light Peak, is a high speed optical fiber technology developed by Intel. It helps to connect various devices like display monitors and external drives through a single cable. It will be faster than USB 3.0, that carries data at 10 gigabits a second in both directions at the same time.
