Woman delivers baby in an autorickshaw

Madikeri (Karna), Feb 21 (PTI) It was a bumpy ride withoutdoubt for a young woman who delivered a baby boy in anautorickshaw near Aigoor here.

Eight-month-pregnant, Rajmani, a native of TaltareShettalli, was travelling in an autorickshaw,on Saturday, whenshe suddenly developed labour pains, police said.

Her husband, who was driving the autorickshaw, immediatelystopped the vehicle and called out for help.

Rajmani gave birth to a boy, weighing 2.5 kg, in theautorickshaw with the assistance of those who rushed in tohelp her.

The mother and child were treated at the primary healthcenter at Aigoor and later shifted to their house.
