Will demand 10 seats from AIADMK for coming polls: Karthik

Madurai, Feb 20 (PTI): Tamil actor and founder leader ofNadalum Makkal Katchi, Karthik today said his party would askfor 10 seats from AIADMK, as PMK was now not in the AIADMKalliance.

"During the first round of talks with AIADMK, we were toldit was not possible for more seats to be given to us as PMK islikely to join the alliance. Since they are now with DMK ledfront, we should be given importance in the Southern districtsand allotted at least 10 seats," he told reporters here.

Karthik exuded confidence that the AIADMK led allaincewould win the elections.

He is on a fast at Keezhakuyilkudi near Tiruparankunram,demanding naming of Madurai airport after PasumponMuthuramalinga Thevar.

Alleing that 175 of the 234 constituencies in Tamil Naduare economically backward, he said the government, instead ofproviding health care facilities and roads was doling outfreebies which would be of any help to people. .

He also demanded that steps be taken to bring down pricesand stop attacks on Indian fishermen, allegedly by the SriLankan Navy.
