Tankers of illegal liquor seized in Georai, four held

Beed, Feb 20 (PTI) The Georai Police have seized threetankers containing illegal liquor and chemicals worth Rs76 lakhs at a road-side eatery and nabbed four persons.

Speaking to PTI about the haul, API Sanjay Lohkare, whoand other policemen carried out this raid last night, said,"On a tip-off, we carried out raid at Sai-Prasanna dhaba inBelgaon farm area of Georai tehsil and seized three tankers."

Two tankers contained chemicals and another one liquor."

Fake stamps of Excise department of Dhule district, someforeign liquor bottles, punching machines and material usedfor sealing petrol tank were also seized, he added.

Lokhare said that the accused made spurious liquor. Theywere also involved in adulteration of petrol. Some morepersons are wanted, he said, adding that probe was on.
