Security beefed up in Central Guj ahead of Godhra verdict

Vadodara, Feb 21: Security has been beefed up in the five districts of Central Gujarat ahead of the verdict on Godhra carnage to be pronounced on Tuesday.

Inspector General of Police for central Gujarat J P Bhat told PTI that SRP companies have been deployed in the districts of Vadodara, Panchhals, Dohad, Narmada and Bharuch as a precautionary measure adding the police will also carry out combing operations.

City Police Commissioner and Additional Director General of Police Rakesh Asthana said that the electronic media should refrain from showing pictures of train burning incident and Godhra riots of 2002.
