Right to Service bill soon: Nitish

Patna, Feb 21 (PTI) Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumartoday said the proposed Right to Service bill would soon beplaced in the state assembly during the budget sessionbeginning tomorrow, in a bid to ensure legal empowermentof people for making available public-utility services tothem.

Talking to reporters here Kumar said he had already haddiscussions with top state officials on the draft of theproposed legislation.

"I hope that the draft will soon be finalised and thebill will be tabled during the budget session," he said.

Kumar said the public utility services to be coveredunder the bill were being screened and scrutinised and thebill would also have scope for inclusion of other importantpublic utility services for the people.

He said the people had the fundamental wright to receivethe services on time and the bill would ensure legal actionagainst the officials for any lapse in providing the services.

Kumar also described as ''encouraging'' the performance ofplayers from Bihar in the ongoing National Games in Jharkhand.
