Jethmalani believes Sonia & Co have Swiss accounts

New Delhi, Feb 21: Firebrand lawyer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ram Jethmalani is not somebody who will mince words and will call a spade a spade come what may. He has stirred the hornets nest by saying that he believes that the Gandhi family has undisclosed black money in Swiss bank accounts. He was talking to reporters outside Parliament when he said, “I believe that the Gandhi family has money stashed in Swiss banks."

"Swiss magazines have written, even Kent books have written. Rahul Gandhi has been getting money from Swiss Bank. A whole advertisement appeared in the New York Times where this allegation was repeated," he revealed in the ruinous comment.

In a head-on take with Sonia Gandhi, Jethmalani's comments are sure to irk many Congress supporters and will cause major embarrassment to the Congress High Command. A task force appointed to investigate the black money trail by the BJP has found that Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and late husband Rajiv Gandhi held Swiss bank accounts abroad.

A few days earlier, senior BJP leader L.K. Advani had written an apology letter to Sonia Gandhi and expressed his regret for having mentioned her name among the list of those who have parked their money abroad. Jethmalani, however, reiterated that the letter was not apologetic in nature and said, "He (Advani) did not apologise, only said that for so many years you (Sonia Gandhi) did not give a denial and now you have given one," he said.
