Pak will handle Raymond Davis case based on its own interests: Gilani
Islamabad, Feb 21(ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government would handle double-murder accused Raymond Davis' case keeping in view Pakistan's interests.
"We have to put our country first. We will do whatever will be in Pakistan's best interest," the Dawn quoted Gilani, as saying.
He also rejected the Opposition's claims that fake documents had been prepared for the American citizen.
"We don't need to prepare fake documents," Gilani said.
Davis has confessed to shooting dead Mohammed Fahim and Faizan Haider in Lahore on January 25, allegedly in self-defence. A third Pakistani was struck and killed by another vehicle that was reportedly racing to Davis' aid.
Pakistani authorities have charged Davis with murder, but the Obama administration has insisted that he is an "administrative and technical official" attached to its Lahore consulate and has diplomatic immunity. (ANI)
