Man arrested for posing as IPS officer
Hyderabad, Feb 20 (PTI) A man was arrested today forposing as an IPS officer and threatening a shop-owner inGudimalkapur area.
M A Jabbar, who possessed a fake IPS officer''s identitycard, went to a wholesale hardware shop and threatened theowner saying that he belonged to the Income Tax department andhad come from Delhi to check their account books.
Suspecting something amiss, the owner informed thepolice who immediately reached the shop and questioned Jabbar.
His I-card was found to be fake. Jabbar, who resides inthe jurisdiction of Rajender Nagar Police station, was takeninto custody then.
He later confessed that he had carried out similaroffence within the jurisdiction of Roza Police station inGulbarga, Karnataka, police said.
