HC dismisses petition filed against Metro rail
Bangalore, Feb 21 (PTI) The Karnataka High Court todaydismissed a writ petition challenging the acquisition of landfor constructing Metro rail station at South End circle here.
The petition was filed by a private firm S K Enterprisesand seven others.
The petitioners contended that they should have been calledfor negotiations after acquisition of land.
Counsel for Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited,Sumona Baligar, however, submitted that since it was thesecond round of litigation, (the first having been dismissedat the High Court and subsequently by Supreme Court) "it isbarred by res judicata" (petition having reached the stage offinality) and petition was accordingly dismissed by JusticeB V Nagarathna.
