Hardcore NDFB militant, linkman nabbed

Tezpur (Assam), Feb 20 (PTI) A hardcore NationalDemocratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militant and a linkman wasapprehended separately by security forces in Assam''s Sonitpurdistrict today.

In a joint operation, personnel of 44 Assam Rifles andpolice at Moinaguri near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh apprehendedthe militant while two others managed to escape, policesources said.

The apprehended militant has been has been identifiedas C Roikha Champarniari, in-charge of NDFB''s Sonitpur unit.

The security forces recovered an AK-56 rifle, twomagazines with 25 ammunition, three mobile phones and severaldocuments.

A linkman of the NDFB, identified as Tirot Narzary,was also apprehended at Batasipur under Dhekiajuli area of thedistrict, sources added.
