Erode turmeric price decreased:

Erode, Feb 21 (PTI) Prices of turmeric, especially thenumber eight variety has decreased by Rs 300 per quintal, butthe Salem crop price has increased in the turmeric market heretoday.

Turmeric sales was conducted in four places, where totally8800 bags were arrived and only 4600 bags were sold. TheNumber eight variety fetched Rs 11,380 per quintal, which isabout Rs 300 per quintal less than last week price.

In Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard, fingervariety was sold at Rs 8,016 to Rs 11,201 per quintal, rootvariety Rs 7,819 to Rs 10,810 per quintal. The finger varietywas decreased by Rs 250 per quintal.

Salem Crop:Finger variety Rs 12000 to Rs 13071 per quintal,root variety Rs 10,719 to Rs 11,400 per quintal. The fingervariety of the Salem crop due to its quality, pricewas increased by Rs 400 per quintal.

In Gobichettipalayam Agricultural Cooperative MarketingSociety, finger variety fetched Rs 9697 to Rs 12060 perquintal, root variety Rs 8110 to Rs 11536 per quintal.
