Cong leader demands CBI probe into engineer murder case
Aligarh, Feb 21 (PTI) A senior Congress leader in UttarPradesh today demanded a CBI probe into the alleged murder ofa state irrigation department engineer.
Rajendra Singh, a junior engineer in the state IrrigationDepartment, was allegedly murdered by unidentified persons inneighbouring Firozabad district on August 4, 2010.
"The state government should initiate a CBI inquiry intothe murder of Rajendra Singh within a week, failing which theCongress will help her file a writ petition in the High Courtfor the purpose," Choudhary Bijendra Singh told reportershere.
Rajendra''s daughter Sunita Singh had alleged irrigationminister Jaiveer Singh''s hand behind the death of her father.
Demanding justice, she had broken the security cordon of ChiefMinister Mayawati on February 3.
